So what would be the result, if it passes? Does it mean they would foot the bill for a station, or what else?

Not yet, unfortunately. This is just to gauge whether there is enough local support among the public to having passenger rail service along the corridor. If this passes, the state of Illinois will see that support, which could lead to the state re-funding this project.
