Hello, when does boarding start for sleeping car passengers on the City of New Orlenans when leaving Chicago? Is dinner also offered when leaving Chicago? Any information would help.

Last time out for my wife and I, they started the boarding process just before 7:30 PM. Yes, we had a great dinner set before us as we were pulling out of Chicago. The shrimp offering was very tasty!

It's running through with the Texas Eagle through the summer, so it should look something like this:

Transition sleeper (not sure if the CONO sells the 8 roomettes in this car)

Sightseer Lounge (or a second CCC if a Lounge isn't available)

I hope that the Texas Eagle has a Observation/Lounge car. Those are nice to go stretch out in when the roomette gets a little cramped.

Leaving CHI on the 10th, 21/321/421 had a CCC and a lounge. Leaving DAL on the 11th, 22/422 had two CCCs and no lounge.
