Anyone know anything about possable free companion coupons on western trains in 2005? Read about it on rail travel news.com.

I would like to know that also except for a different destination. Don't they usually run those buy one get one a certain percentage off the first part of the year?

Amtrak has gotten away from discounting or offering "Two for One"deals on a national basis, although the West and Southeast have created Free Companion Fare Coupons for use with marketing partners and as a way to gain access to various databases/or retail locations. Check with your local Amtrak stations in the southeast and you may be able to get one of the coupons....if not, respond to this post with the station location.

Bummer. We are in the Midwest. We would leave from Indy and head to New York on the train.

Almost all of the current offers made in conjunction with a marketing partner (especially those that require a coupon) are only available by contacting the partner - not Amtrak.
