I would like to see the performance of three trains, 14, 6, 59, from the month of September 2003. Do you know it is available?

I believe Amtrak releases this information somewhere on their website. I don't think they were doing it in September, though, so the info from that period may or may not be available.

It looks as if it was cut and pasted from Mr. Gene Poon's post over at trainorders.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the StarLATE's stunning performance of 5% on time! (3 out of 60 trains ran on time). It looks as if it is slowly improving... wasn't it a big 0 a month or two ago?

GenePoon has been posting the Amtrak end-point on-time results on Trainorders for the last couple of years. The data is available by train name, but not by direction so you can get the California Zephyr (train 5 & 6), but not just train 6. And for Amtrak long-distance trains, on-time is arrival early (ha ha), on schedule, or up to 30 minutes behind schedule.

In September, 2003:

California Zephyr (5 & 6): 60 trips, 45 trips over 30 minutes late, 25% on-time.

Coast Starlight (11 & 14): 60 trips, 38 trips over 30 minutes late, 36.7% on-time.

City of New Orleans (58 & 59): 60 trips, 17 trips over 30 minutes late, 71.7% on-time.
