I am reviewing the Amtrak Rooster Fleet of the cars for East LD routes what they used have before the pandemic and after so you can get the idea. If you see error, please let me know so I can make corrections. I want to compare what the difference in between when Amtrak decide to make the cuts.

For the LSL I don't believe there was ever a cafe in the NY section, only the Boston section.

There was at one time a Boston baggage car, not sure when that was taken off, may have been before the COVID reductions.

Also the Boston sleeper is still at the front of the train behind the engines. At least it was in September when I took it last.

Oh dear were trying to pin down the Lake Shore Limited. Will need to have a month and year to determine the correct set of equipment.

Two cafe cars in the winter? Yes.
Boston or New York in front? Both yes.
Baggage car for Boston? Yes, but when?

This train is always changing it consist. I am sure there a method to the madness, but I lack the patience to figure it out.

The Crescent I took last June didn't have a dining car. And only two coaches. The Palmetto has a separate cafe car and a separate Amfleet 1 business class car. Not sure if it has 4 coaches or 3. The Lake Shore Limited only had 2 coaches in the New York section when I rode it last month.

Cardinal has not had a Dining Car for over a decade. Also it has generally been a single Sleeper train, which occasionally gets two. I believe it does tun with a Bag-Dorm these days. It getting a Viewlienr II as a second Sleeper could happen but is a matter of speculation.

Every time I have ridden it, the Cafe was between the Coaches and the Business Class. Number of Coaches of course varied and were hard to pin down.

Currently it has no Diner, and often runs with a Bag-Dorm instead of a Baggage Car.

Cafe Car in the New York section happened over occasional periods. The norm was no Cafe.

The Cafe Car in the Boston section is a Cafe/BC.

The Boston Sleeper will always be in the front with the Boston section, never in the back. The only time it has been in the back is when temporarily the Boston section was running to New York.

It is already running with a Viewliner II Sleeper

Palmetto has not had a Cafe/BC in dogs years. It carries a full Capstone BC and a full Corridor Cafe. The Cafe is between the Coaches and BC AFAIR. The number of Coaches vary all the time and are hard to pin down.

Silver Star only occasionally gets a thirs Sleeper. It might become more permanent when they deploy the full available Sleeper fleet. It is already carrying a Viewliner II Sleeper. It has generally been a two Sleeper train.

In the last decade or so the Meteor has never been a four Sleeper train. It has occasionally got an extra one beyond its usual three. With the deployment of the full Sleeper fleet it might become a four Sleeper train.

Hope this helps.

And BTW could you change the "Rooster" in the title of this thread to "Roster"? There really are no "Roosters" involved here :D

But there is no shortage of "cackling" on the site at times....
