Amtrak's headlines are reporting that they have suspended service between Springfield Mass and Hartford Conn due to severe flooding.

Unfortunately someone screwed up on the website's links, as clicking on the headline story actually takes you to the Empire Builder derailment story.

No official word, but checking train status show the Southbound Vermonter and one other shuttle train that I checked as having left SPG and arrived in NY.

Where is PG?

Expect the Vermonter to be doing some bussing for a few days, weeks, months, years. They just ran a track car up there and found every rough spot on the New England Central, causing heavy delays to the Vermonter due to its necessity to slow down, and freights moving much slower.
