Anybody know about Arnold's views about Amtrak, Amtrak service in California, etc.? That is one of the issues he will have to deal with if he becomes governor. I would like to know his views? Anybody have any idea?

I doubt he has any views on Amtrak at all. It's probably the job of his "world-class team" to come up with a solution..

"Warren is helping me bring together a world-class team to assist me in addressing the problems and challenges facing businesses, investors and job creators in California," Schwarzenegger said in a statement. "Warren has a common sense approach to business issues and an integrity that is unmatched. That's the same way I want to approach governing."

Schwartzenegger = LOSER. Terminate him right out of town... or should I say the state? What a joke!

Just my 2 cents.

Arnold's feelings on Amtrak California are not terribly relevant in the grand scheme of things. Even if he became governor (and he very well might) the main question is would he be able to govern. The simple answer is no because of the composition of the legislature and how people generally vote in those elections. Considering in the recent budget battle that funding remained the same for Amtrak California it is save to believe that the level will stay the same and thankfully probably not be cut.

Governor Davis (not a favorite of mine) is also unable to get too much done because of the legislature's dislike of and unwillingness to work with him so it would be damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I hope Arnold doesnt Terminate any funding for the California corridors. They seem to have a SWEET setup out there for Amtrak :) Alot of people also ride those trains out there. All new equipment, dedicated bus connections all over the state, California is an example of how Rail service should be I think!

I've said it before, I'll say it now, and I'll say it again, "If all the states would have funded Amtrak the way California has over the past several years, Amtrak (national) would not be in near the financial straits they are now!"

This was my post.

I think it is as important to know his views on Amtrak as on any other issue. This is one more issue the media doesn't cover. He is from Austria, the Austrian government finances its trains, and its trains are find and provide needed services to the people. But perhaps this is one of the things about Austria that he finds socialistic. So, who knows what he will do, if anything. If he leaves it alone, that is also a good sign. I wonder too if people think that funding all these trains is part of the financial problems of California. Some people might point to it and say so. Yet, the trains do provide an important service, and people are riding them.
