Train Status:

There is a major delay in the Transbay Tube in the San Francisco and East Bay directions due to an equipment problem on the track. We are running one third of normal service through the Transbay Tube and suggest using other forms of transportation.

Major delays through Transbay Tube for morning commute

There are major delays of 30 minutes or more on BART this morning due to single tracking through the Transbay Tube; the latest estimate for full service to be restored through the tube is 11:30 am.

Use BART's real time departures to check your travel times.

We are single tracking due to damage on the third rail following a collision of two rail maintenance vehicles at approximately 2:35 am. No injuries were reported. Approximately 380 feet of the third rail was damaged in the San Francisco to Oakland side of the tube. Initial cleanup is complete and repairs are underway to reconnect and realign the third rail. Test trains will be run through the area when repairs are complete and if testing is successful, as we expect it to be, full service is expected to be restored by 11:30 am.
