I am planning a vacation to the Northeast this summer and am trying to decide how to maximize time on the Acela (our first time, going to try out First Class).
We will be flying into BWI (arrive 12:30pm, depart 5:40pm) and then visiting NYP & WRJ, the order doesn't matter. I was thinking of maybe taking the Acela from BWI to NHV and then switching over to the Vermonter. Then the Vermonter back to NYC then a regional to BWI.
Or we could do the reverse. Any suggestions on what would be the most reasonable itinerary? I have only traveled through the NE on long distance trains, so I am not well versed in the NE Corridor intricacies.
