1. Safety & Security - Detective Gadget

You'll soon see a uniformed Amtrak police officer on regular patrol on board the trains, at stations, and at facilities all along the Capitol Corridor route. As part of our security and safety improvement efforts, the CCJPA has arranged for Detective Gadget to patrol the route as an additional security measure for passengers. Detective Gadget previously worked with Caltrain and is pleased to join the Capitol Corridor team. Please welcome him with a hearty hello when you see him on board!

As always, we value your help in maintaining the safety and security of Capitol Corridor. Your eyes and ears are some of the best tools we have to stay aware of suspicious behavior or packages. If you see anything that doesn't look right, be sure to alert a conductor, station agent, or contact Amtrak police at 1-800-331-0008 or call 911. Thank you!

2. Capitol Corridor automated train status and ticket sales via Amtrak

Amtrak confirmed to the CCJPA that beginning September 12, 2006 Capitol Corridor train status and ticket sales will no longer be available via Amtrak's automated interactive phone voice system ('Julie'). Voice-automated train status reporting has been temporarily suspended, and a new system is under development by the CCJPA. For immediate access to train status information and to purchase tickets, go to www.capitolcorridor.org

SERVICE ALERT - September 14, 2006

Unplanned Bridgework between Suisun and Davis:

Friday September 15, 11:00am thru Sunday September 17, 5:00pm

Union Pacific has just provided notice to the CCJPA that a 2-track bridge across an old culvert requires major repair work this weekend. Starting tomorrow, Friday, September 15, 2006, at 11:00 am, and continuing until Sunday, September 17, 2006, at about 5:00 pm, one of the two tracks between Davis and Tolenas (north of Suisun-Fairfield Station) will be taken out of service for work equipment to access the bridge and its abutments in order to make repairs. Trains operating in both directions will need to be routed onto the remaining open track, and these trains will have a lower speed limit through the work area.

Expect trains to be delayed up to 15-20 minutes through the work area on Friday afternoon and continuing until late Sunday afternoon. We apologize for the delays, but we want you to know the repairs will help ensure the on-time reliability of trains in the future. Thank you for your patience!
