It is noted on OTOL that there is a frequency change at Rochester, PA. I'm curious as to which station stop this is nearest to and how far it is from the station. Sorry, but my "roadside" geography is a little cloudy. ;)

Just went to Yahoo maps and it seems Rochester, PA is about 15-25 miles northwest of Pittsburg, PA. Any time estimates on how long it takes to get from Pittsburgh to Rochester.

Well I'd guess itd be about 15-20 minutes. The safest thing to do is to turn that frequency on at Pittsburgh. But, Engineers and Conductors almost always say when they are going to roll to another channel, so all crew members are aware, and a radio check is then done on the new channel.
