Lots of news going on down here in the Florida area. The Amtrak 506 (JAX Switcher) has been replaced by the 516, 506's whereabouts are unknown. Amtrak engines 9 and 15 are both in Phase Vb after overhaul by Beech Grove. Auto Train lounges are rampant now, 3 of the four lounges are in trainsets now, with one in the yard. The Amfleets from the Star derailment were deadheaded to JAX from Sanford and were added to 90 today.

Thanks for the info, things are starting to sound better (except maybe for 506). :)

So does this mean that the Amfleets from last weeks wreck are all repaired and ready for full service again?

Apparently, yes since they went to the Palmetto the other day. They were on the rear of the train and sustained the least amount of damage.

Good, thats what I figured, the Amfleet II car supply is pretty thin as it is, luckly these cars were only knocked out for a very short period of time. The Viewliner situation must be VERY bad with those 2 Viewliners getting banged up the worse in the wreck.

Well most of the damage was in the vestibule. None of the traps (stairs) will go down, but the guys in Sanford are the best (besides BG) at repairs, so the cars are in good hands. The only other major problem is a crack in the main reservoir of the 62013.

The two Viewliners, along with the crew dorm are currently sitting on one of the tracks next to the Auto Train platform. From the side that I could see damage at this point appears minimal. That may well be due to the fact that they've already reapaired some of the damage.

Engine 199 was sitting on the other side of the station near the shops and where the detrain the autos, with damage still quite visable.
