I am hoping some of the experienced Amtrak travelers might have an answer for this :)

Right now, I've booked and paid for our summer trip: Omaha - Chicago - DC on the way out and Newark - DC - Chicago - Omaha on the way back. I was thinking about leaving from Fargo instead. This would only change the Omaha - Chicago/Chicago - Omaha legs. Is this easy to do? We have sleepers on the Chicago - DC and DC - Chicago legs, so would Amtrak let me keep those at the same rates I originally booked with, or will they have to do a completely new reservation for the entire trip and charge me the new (potentially higher) bucket prices on the sleepers I've already booked? I have not picked up/received the tickets yet.

Hope my question makes sense and thanks in advance for any information :)

I have no information, but I do have a suggestion - call Amtrak and ask. If you don't like what the agent says - call again!

What can you lose by trying? ;)
