CSX derailment stabs Cardinal 3/21/07

Reported by my parents via text message. Poor souls had to start off their trip being bussed around the Lakeshore route's CSX mess, now they get it on the return (becoming "Ambus" experts). At least the "Chief" was ontime both directions (as usual).

I've lost contact with them, does anyone know where this derailment was?

THREE CSX screwings in ONE WEEK!!! Now my Bal-Williamsburg trip is cancelled, due to csx "trackwork."

Amtrak isn't helping things . . . I don't see notice on their website.

What IS this country coming to?

I really do not understand why they are all of a sudden being so secretive about posting service disruptions on their website. I wonder what is going on? It seems like in the past they were a little better about this.

Apparently you are not the only one who has noticed CSX's recent problems keeping their trains on the tracks. The Federal Railroad Administrator has ordered a CSX track inspection.

Nice find, EBF. I actually deal with CSX engineering at my job . . . it is something of a vindication that they really ARE as inept of a company as they seem.
