Train Attendant
Just got back from a nice trip...Oceanside to LAX on the Surfliner on the 15th, LAX to Emeryville on the Coast Starlight (only 25 minutes late into Emeryville), on the 15th, and the CZ from Emeryville to Omaha (16th-18th). The CZ arrived in Salt Lake City 30 minutes early, but it left 1 hr 15 min late ??? I was sleeping at the time and wasn't listening to the scanner, or on top of what was going on. We detoured through Wyoming (bummer), and arrived in Denver 50 minutes early. We had an hour and about 15 minutes layover in Denver, so had time to walk around downtown visit some shops, get some good coffee. We left Denver 10 minutes late, and got behind 3 BNSF trains who couldn't get out the way for us for quite a while and we lost an hour into Omaha. I see on the Amtrak website it arrived in Chicago only 26 minutes late. Great trip. I will try do a trip report later.
