Diesel fuel

Is anyone here know alot about the technical stuff about amtrak. If so, I was curious if Amtrak or Any railroad uses the same type diesel fuel in the locomotives as people fill up their cars and traucks with(40 cetane). or if it is different.

Most trains are fueled by Ordinairy Home heating oil at intermediate points.

At big service area's the Railroads do use Regular Diesel fuel but Tax free variant.
