E-mail from Amtrak regarding sleeper prices

The question is, what will there stance be 40 days from now.

I thought the Amtrak letter was fairly clear on the point that the meal service is still included in the cost of the room. I called Amtrak today to ask about that very matter and I was told that meals are included in the sleeper price.

Sadly many of Amtrak's phone agents are not aware of what Amtrak is planning or currently even operating. They will read the information they have in their computer, but quite a few have never even ridden on Amtrak themselves so they do not really know what is going on. That said, they still do a pretty good job with the basic stuff most people ask or need to know.
