Has anybody done this trip?

I know the schedules and that the night train is a non-stop talgo hotel train, and that traveling by day requires two connections.

I am especially interested in information about those trains on the day trip.

Thanks.

I've gone from Lisbon to Madrid by train. But it was the night train, direct. So I can only say that it was a bit jolting, but was nice enough. Seats were cushioned and there was a nice snackbar lounge. I sat at the counter writing notes. Left in the late evening and got to Madrid the next morning.

Did you have a sleeping car on that train? We will be taking that one back from Madrid to Lisbon. How was the sleeper?
