An old CBO document that was available via Google. I've flipped all the tables around so that you don't have to try and turn your head 90 degrees to read them. Posted for the appendix which contains (again, old) definitions of how Amtrak allocates costs and contains the revenues, costs (short term avoidable and fully allocated), passengers, and passenger-miles for Amtrak routes in Fiscal Years 1980 and 1981. This may be of interest for historical reasons.
 
So this is just about federal subsidies for Amtrak. There is much more to rail passenger service than just Amtrak in the US. Indeed the net subsidy for non-Amtrak rail passenger service is probably quite substantial. Most of that is routed through the FTA and not FRA.
