There used to be a website that would scan a 30 day period for the best rates. The link I have doesn't seem to work any more. Does anyone have info on that? I know I used it to good advantage last fall.

Thank you! That explains it then. I kept getting an error message telling me to check my station codes. I was pretty sure I had the right ones. I'll try again tomorrow.
 
There is one thing I didn't realize, or at least forgot about the Amsnag rates until just the other day. I knew the fares shown were for the current bucket fares of each train and day. But what I forgot was that when taking a roomette, say, Amtrak uses the lowest bucket fare for the coach part of the ticket. So was a bit confused when the combination coach and roomette fare on Amsnag was higher than what was listed on the Amtrak website.
