freight breakdown north of Chemault, OR

Anybody have any info regarding this? I'm on the CS northbound, and we're stuck in Chemault waiting for it to clear.

Nothing in the news. I am hoping by now the train has moved on, and you're enjoying the beautiful ride over the Cascades and down the west side. At least it is a beautiful day. Keep us posted on what's happening, when you get back into wi-fi range.

One hour waiting in Chemault, another hour or so north of Chemault in the mountains, all waiting for the freight train to get moving. Numerous other shortish delays until about olympia, so we never did make up much time, leaving us about two hours late into Seattle. They took off the folks making the Portland EB connection in Eugene to hustle them on up to Portland.

It was a gorgeous day to be stuck in the mountains, though!

Glad you made it back okay. I never saw anything in the news, either, so the delay must not have been disastrous.
