heritage engines

I've noticed lately that the heritage locomotives aren't shown up on the Amtrak Status Maps. Are they still being used? I watch the CZ and/or SWC occasionally, and I haven't seen any on either of them lately. Just wondering.

They're used still. Just hard to keep track of them.

I know last night's 304 had locomotive 66 painted in the 40th anniversary scheme.

66 is pretty much captive to the Illinois Service. Which ticks me off. The rest of the country deserves to see it.. It's the only Amtrak heritage unit I'm missing.

The only one I'm missing is stuck on west coast service. 184. It hasn't been east in forever

I stopped tracking the heritage engines because the service that I got them from didn't provide timely information. By the time I got the information, the train usually had completed its trip and was home in the barn.

Me too! Phase II is my favorite scheme, too.
