Given the large amount of awards that will be made I figured I’d start a thread on it.
We had our first major announcement of IIJA backed grant awards yesterday going to Amtrak related projects - from the FY22 CRISI program. This program is for supporting both freight and some passenger projects and typically much goes to short lines, but there were a number of passenger programs successful in this round. Amtrak related projects include Gulf Coast, Inland route service in Massachusetts, Virginia’s Franconia Springfield flyover project, California’s third track for Sacramento to Roseville.

Amtrak press release highlighting the four projects that were direct submissions of theirs and a listing of winning state led that they participated in.

The next major announcement should be FRA’s selections for the corridor ID program followed by the first round of grant winners from the FY22 Federal State Partnership for Intercity Passenger rail grants for the Northeast Corridor and National network..
