Just sitting here at ALB on 49

Train 49 arrived 3 minutes early at 6:17. 449 was already sitting here when we pulled in. Departure time was supposed to be at 7:05. The car department didn't arrive on the scene to connect 49 and 449 together until 7:10. It's now 7:40 and we are still sitting here. What's real funny is that Amtrak's web site said we already departed. Not sure where that info came from

Maybe management believes what "Julie" says - I take her train status reports with 5 pounds of salt grains - and sent everyone home to save on payroll instead of getting you on your way?

Ah Quicher, sitting here in LFT on 2 waiting on freight interference, down 4 & 1/2 & staring down a 2:15 arrival at NOL with a 7 am connection to 20.

Being in NOL @ 2:15am can be lots better than sitting on a train in the hole waiting on freights!

Probably no point in trying to check into a hotel for that short a time, plenty of places to wait for morning to arrive, if you're not into clubs or music joints you can hang out @ Harrahs Casino, then stop by Cafe Du Monde before heading to Union Station!

Yeeeeeeeah if we didn't have the 5 year old in tow TOTALLY woulda been the plan. Alas, not much in NOL for a 5YO at 2:15, so we headed over to the reserved & uncancellable hotel for a few hours rest before going back at it in a few. Just got settled in now.
