In the print headline for this story the L.A. Times had the chutzpah to call L.A.'s Metro Blue Line "aging, as in "Aging Metro Blue Line to get $1.2-billion investment." HAH!! Wonder how they'd characterize some of the eastern systems? "Prehistoric T," "Antediluvian IRT?" "Ancient LIRR?"
The online headline merely refers to the rolling stock as aging, and of that there is no doubt:
