Big news off of the news wire. According to Amtrak sources there has been a major CSX derailment in Florence, SC. At this time P098 and P052 are holding at SAV, and are awaiting P092, where 98/92 will combine, and P052 will follow over 92's route. It is being guessed that P053 will go over the inland route south to SFA. The status of P089 is uknown, but it will most likely terminate near Florence. So, for those with family's on trains besides 91/92 call Amtrak to check status, as trains will be very late. Will update as I recieve more info.

Yes, a freight train did derail partly due to hitting an 18 wheeler at a grade crossing, but it was in no way major. No one was killed, nor seriously injured. So again be careful how you word things when you post so you don't give others the wrong idea.

Train Derails in Lake City

News13

A freight train hit an 18-wheeler Thursday afternoon (11/7) at a crossing on Main Street in downtown Lake City. Nobody was seriously hurt.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. News 13 is told the truck was hit by the train, but the truck driver was able to get away from his rig before the impact. It is not known why the truck had stopped on the crossing.

A part of the train derailed and debris from the wreck broke some nearby storefront windows. The crossing should be totally clear by sometime Friday morning.

Not really a huge deal, but according to the article they did have to "provide alternate transportation for routes that go through Lake City." Thus the wreck was not a big deal but maybe the reroute was :)
