I am trying to modify the date of travel for a Sleeping Car reservation made with AGR points (with the 40% discount). The App says to call an agent and the website will only allow me to modify the dates for coach and business fares. Sleeping car fares are grayed out even though they are available for the new days. Is it possible to modify the travel dates without paying a points penalty, or is that only for coach or business travel ?

One thing to note: the sale is online only. I needed to make a change to a reward trip and found that
a. I could not get the sale "price" when exchanging online because something in the system would not offer it for exchanges, only for new reservations (it reverts to the regular points price on the final confirmation screen).
b. the agent on the AGR phone line could not do the exchange for me because the sale is online only.
What we ended up doing was having the agent cancel my reservation and refund my points without a fee (they can do that over the phone if you explain your issue) and then having me book the new trip myself online. It's kind of nuts but there it is.

Good God. What a mess. I think I'll just take the 20% hit on the points and reschedule myself ! It's a pretty small redemption, so the penalty won't amount to very much anyway.
