New E. Lansing Station

Any word on when the new Intermodal Gateway station will open in East Lansing? I heard it would open this fall, but I can't find any updated articles or photos.

Here's an update on Amtrak's planned move into the new East Lansing, MI intermodal facility:

Evidently, the facility is all set and ready, and so are the passengers. However, Amtrak is having problems getting phone services and equipment transferred.

I would hope it's something weird with how Amtrak has the data side. Assuming both sites are fed from the same central office, the actual dial tone aspect should be easy.

Though, to be fair, I know just enough on the phone side to be dangerous.

That wasn't a comment on how hard it is to transfer, it was a swipe at AT&T management's *willingness* to dispatch workers promptly.

Do we know for sure that it is AT&T that is involved in providing local telephone connectivity?

No, but it is the local incumbent landline carrier. Educated guess based on the odds.
