Hi again
In another thread I alluded to the fact that I am German-American (dual citizenship, and proud of both countries!), so I hope that someone will correct me if I am posting this in error. Please do, and do not be afraid of hurting my feelings. I am just a train lover and it doesn't matter if it's Amtrak or Deutsche Bahn!
While travelling by train across my home country, I have seen a lot of delipidated passenger cars parked at some of the railyards we would pass, and I am wondering how many of those are of WWII vintage, and if any of them have a "history"?
I honestly do not know, since I was born in '49 to an American father and German mother, and knew very little of the reasons for the war at the time.
So for those of you who have travelled by train across Germany, have you seen these cars (most covered in graffitti), and did you ever wonder about them, and did you ever inquire?
Thanks
