Greetings All!! And a very happy New Year.

I've read several posts (primarily trip reports) where it has been mentioned that a train was delayed because it had to hook up with EMS folks due to a medical emergency on board.

I am assuming that Amtrak OBS have some sort of first-aid training - at least CPR and/or defribrillator certifications. Would I be on track about this?

Dave

You are correct, CPR training is given which includes training using an AED.
Are there actually AEDs on the train? I can't recall having seen one, but that doesn't mean that they're not there....
There are AEDs on most trains. On the EB for example, there is supposed to be one in both the diner and the lounge car. There are two because the train splits in Spokane. Other trains, I imagine only have one AED.
