Overnight car parking in Solana Beach CA train station?

Can I park my car overnight at the Solana Beach CA station? Is it allowed? Is it safe? Just wondering. Thanks.

Yes, you can. Technically there are long-term and short-term portions of the lot, but I've never seen tickets on cars parked in the short-term spaces overnight. The lot is lit and appears to be relatively safe since it is in a suburban neighborhood. I've never seen broken glass on the ground. Some commuters from Orange County leave a second car parked there every night and over the weekends.

Old Town, on the other hand, is completely different issue...

Slightly off track and you might have thought of it. I have used one of the many park 'n fly lots at SD airport and used their shuttle bus to the SD Amtrak station.
