Penn Station - NYC

Anyone know what the latest is on Amtrak plans etc. on 'Penn Station and/or the Post Office building??

When I was sixteen this was where I watched the trains comming and going to NYC.

At present, unless they decide not to charge Amtrak rent for using the Farley building, Amtrak will pass. And as much as I'd like to see Amtrak in a glorious station, I can't blame them. Why pay rent to occupy a building, when you already own one? Or at least co-own with the bank.

I understand that NJT is currently considering if they could use the building. However they just spent a fortune on their new section of the existing Penn Station, so I don't know where they are going to find the money either.

So this may end up dying without ever getting off the drawing board.
