Phase II of TSA Rail Screening to Begin

The first phase of the Transit and Rail Inspection Program (TRIP), administered by the Transportation Security Administration, was a test of security screening of passengers and carry-on baggage at the Amtrak/MARC station at New Carrollton, MD. It has now concluded.
The second phase, to begin soon, will primarily feature screening of baggage being checked onto long distance trains at Washington Union Station.
