My 77 yo father is thinking of taking the train from Rocky Mt NC to see his brothers in NJ.

Amtrak connects with the NJT Atlantic City trains in Philly.

Question as a guess how much walking would one have to do from the Amtrak gate/area to the NJT gate/area??

Thanks in advance.

He would have to take the escalator upstairs to the main waiting area and then once the NJT train is anounced he'd have to ride another escalator back down. Both NJT and Amtrak leave from the same platforms, so he won't have to walk far upstairs in the station. There are only I think 12 or 14 tracks, so the station isn't that big. His biggest walk might actually be on the platforms to get to the escalators.

SEPTA however boards in a different section of the station, and on a different level from Amtrak & NJT. That transfer would be a much bigger walk, but thankfully he won't have to make that walk. :)
