I'm booked in a Roomette on the Sunset Limited in March at a medium-low bucket fare. I got an Amsnag fare alert the other day that the bucket had dropped, although it was back up by the time I checked (one of y'all beat me to it, obviously!). But that brings up the question: What is the best way to request rebooking at a lower fare when the price drops, without risking losing your current fare altogether? Any pitfalls to avoid? And how to respond when the telephone agent says It Can't Be Done?
