I flew up to the greater Dulles airport area last week for work, but gave myself some time for sightseeing (hit up the Udvar-Hazy Monday the regular Air & Space on the mall Friday), and figured I'd only have one week to myself in December, so I treated myself to a roomette ride back home to Miami. And then, in a moment of weakness after a few drinks with coworkers, Amtrak hit me with the Bid Up offer that had a "just give us the money and we'll be done" option I took for a bedroom.
So Friday afternoon, I wandered out of the Air & Space museum at twilight to find refreshments and provisions on the way back to DC Union Station (where I'd stashed most of my stuff earlier in the day).
