Silver Star Dining Car Gone

I was advised by Amtrak that they have now permanently removed the dining car from the Silver Star. I really hate that decision and hope it is not a trend for things to come.

If this is true,I knew this was coming. The sleeper fares should be no more than $150 from New York to Miami in a roomette and less expensive at intermediate stops. Without a diner car, the sleeper experience is greatly diminished and should be priced to reflect it.
