Sunset Limited collides with auto at grade crossing, driver killedAmtrak’s westbound Sunset Limited collided with an automobile at a grade crossing in Cade, Louisiana, northwest of New Iberia, Dec. 30. The driver, Philip J. Harrower, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Lafayette, La., Advertiser, state police said the train pushed the car one-half mile from the intersection before it could be stopped.
This story is from today's Trains Newswire.

In case you'd like to know, the units on the train were 1 in the lead, 4 and 66 trailing. SO #1 on P001 got a ding. FYI if you ever get unit #4 on your train it's a POS. That unit had a dead traction motor when I rode with it in the beginning of November. Then just last week the entire electrical system died while it was trailing on AT. So 1 little horsie was hauling a 40 some odd car train, OUCH!
