Any word if Capitol Corridor & any another amtrak lines in California going to add more service trains on Sunday 2/7

There's a special schedule linked on the Amtrak website. I couldn't get it to post here.

Capitol Corridor Schedules Revised and Reservations Required on Super Bowl Sunday

Effective Sunday, February 7, 2016 Only

The 2016 Super Bowl will take place on February 7, 2016, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

All Reserved Service

To better accommodate the large number of passengers going to the game, all Capitol Corridor trains will require reservations on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Reservations are not required for passengers with monthly and ten-ride tickets.

Schedule Change

Additionally, some Capitol Corridor schedules will be adjusted on February 7, 2016 (only) to better serve passengers traveling to and from the game.

For Capitol Corridor reservations and revised schedules on Super Bowl Sunday, visit capitolcorridor.org or Amtrak.com, or use Amtrak's free mobile apps.

Thank you for choosing Amtrak.

What would be important would be if Amtrak adds as many Superliners as possible to the CALZ from Denver to Emeryville. Then hold a connecting Capitol corridor train to carry passengers to San Jose and intermediate points. Winter schedules should allow for extra cars although locos might be a challenge but a couple extra UP ACs would work well.train

With so many Super Bowl activities and lodging being up in San Fran, there probably isn't a concentrated demand for service directly from DEN to San Jose. But I agree it would be a good idea to add capacity to the CZ, if possible. Of course Amtrak wouldn't want to alienate their customers in the Carolinas, so it would have to be done w/o a great deal of fanfare and w/o the appearance of Amtrak rooting for the Broncos.

[See what happens when a transportation provider appears to take sides in a sporting event.]
