I may have missed it over the years but were the SSL's equipped with an exit doors on the lower level when built or has this been a Beech Grove modification?

I cant imagine that they'd build a car you couldn't get into or out of.
The Heritage diners have no vestibule and some of the single level lounges have the lower half door to load provisions.Same with the diners, I think.... I guess you could crawl out if need be. :help:

ALL Superliner cars (both I and II) were built with external doors. They are not opened for ordinary boarding/deboarding in the SSL and never have been. But they have always been there. It is there for safety, the attendant's use and, as noted, allowing disabled passengers access to the lounge/cafe.
