TE/SL: Which Direction?

We’re planning to ride westbound. The ease of booking same-day flights home is a huge draw for those not vacationing on the west coast.

The departure cities will likely vary, so we’ll just meet up in the SSL rather than try to get everyone in the same sleeper.


Thanks for all of the pics, video, and feedback. I always enjoy reading/viewing travelogues.

I've only traveled east bound but I think it's a toss up. I found the changing terrain interesting.

Right, but if you all want to avoid changing trains in the middle of the night in SAS, you will have to be in the same sleeper. :)

We’re all Amtrak veterans with lots of experience booking tickets. We’ll figure it out.
