The local Dallas news station is reporting that the Texas Eagle has derailed this evening in Van Zandt County, east of Dallas... no other details given.

Anybody have any further information?

Initial reports don't sound too bad.

Amtrak's Texas Eagle passenger train derailed in Grand Saline, Texas on Saturday.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said there were no serious injuries in the incident about 60 miles east of Dallas.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that 4 wheels of the locomotive left the tracks, forcing the train to a halt.
The full story from WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas, can be found here.

Is it just me or has there been an inordinate number of Amtrak equipment on the ground lately?

Wasn't the Empire Builder on the ground twice.........the Portland section and then in Milwaukee?
