This has to be one of the most unusual posts on here in quite a while.

Guess there are two sides to everything. But still again, sometimes service is really bad. I think we railfans can sort of tell the difference. Some other passengers possilby expect more than is reasonable.

But again, what a delightful post---imagine looking like an Amtrak employee and being related to that way!!
 
I was wearing clothes similar to an employee on a recent trip, and got numerous requests to help set up the beds. I set the beds up anyway, as i know how to do so, but it took me a while to realize poeple thought i was an attendant.
 
I just had an idea.....from now on, when I'm on a sleeper car with a non-existant attendant, I'm going to put on my dark slacks and blue dress shirt. I'll position myself at the vestibule at every major stop with my hand outspread. Maybe I can earn enough to support my rail habit that way. Can't hurt.
