Anyone have info on why #6 is running so late today?Is this a rerouted train or on the

regular route?Dont believe its weather, everywhere seems to be hot and dry! :lol:

Hope they hold the trains or have the busses ready for the transfer folks!

Today's arrival into Chicago for the CZ is not a reroute. The reroute occured this week for trains departing Emeryville or Chicago on 7/15 through 7/23. Today's arrival left EMY on the 24th. The next reroutes are scheduled for 7/31 to 8/8.

I'm actually sitting in the metro lounge, I was on the delayed train yesterday.

We lost a good chunk of time in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Colfax CA due to UP tunnel work. We traveled at 10 mph for a good 30 minutes and stopped for another 20 minutes to wait for a UP work train to clear.

We hit a 10 mph heat restriction in the Nevada desert outside of Winnemuca for quite a while.

Following that we were delayed in Glenwood Canyon due to signal problems.

We stopped somewhere in IL to get paperwork from the BNSF dispatcher..after 20 mins of not answering, we traveled a bit further and stopped next to a freight train to get the info then.

Someone in Iowa or Illinois we also had to stop and throw by hand a switch.

Amtrak DID NOT hold any trains in Chicago. Some passengers were bussed on a sched thruway bus in Galesburg to catch a train to St. Louis and a few jumped on a bus to Michigan. All other passengers were put up in hotels and rebooked. I was in the Swiss Hotel in Chicago.
