Sorry if this has been posted before. I think the thrust of it is on target. Trump and Cuomo despite differences in politics both have the "ediface complex". Of course the Pres. does not control the purse strings, this one doesnt even control his party. Unlikely that Trump or Chao would "derail" the big NEC projects. As far as LD, it will probably be the same battles as always.

South of the Lake might just possibly be a sufficiently grandiose project, if presented correctly. It's primarily for the Michigan services but it is also the single best thing which could happen to the so-called long-distance trains.
