Travel Show Observation

With people starting to emerge from their COVID related cocoons, we had a busy weekend in Boston, and a popular attraction was the return of The Annual Boston Travel Show.

The show was divided between 2 exhibit halls, with one focused on International Travel, and the other Domestic.

Railway Services were well represented and included the Alaska Railroad, Grand Canyon Railroad, Mt. Washington Cog, and The Rocky Mountaineer, promoting their Colorado,
and Canadian operations for 2022 and beyond. Interest on all these was strong

Maine had a large exhibit with information on The Downeaster, but that was the only mention of Amtrak at the show.

Does Amtrak ever take a booth at these shows to present their services ??

Amtrak in the past would have displays at some shows, The Big E train show comes to mind.

The Rocky Mountaineer is offering $400.00 off all bookings through April.
Their Colorado Routing works similar to their primary route in Canada in that it is divided into 2 day light segments with a hotel stay overnight.

I am a cynic. Why should Amtrak go anywhere now since it is so short of equipment?

There used to be this thing called National Train Day that often featured Amtrak staff and equipment all over the country. Feels like a distant memory now.
