I'm typing this just across the tracks from the Emeryville Station. Not sure what I'll do after I get offline.
Anyway, as I mentioned in a previous post, my Zephyr is cancelled from EMY to DEN, so I rebooked via the Starlight (which originates in EMY) and Builder.
Sunset arrived in NOL six hours late, but didn't use the entire allotted dwell time, so we left four hours late.
An hour later, we struck a vehicle, killing its driver. The truly sad story of this is that apparently the man had dropped off his two young daughters moments earlier, and they were about 100 yards from the site when it occurred.
That set us back another three hours.
All told, we were 12:49 late into LAX. No big deal, I had an 18-hour connection to my Bakersfield bus. Took a brief round trip to San Juan Capistrano and back on the Surfliner.
