Urgent contact Governor Jennifer Granholm and tell her to save Michigan amtrak service the cut has passed the senate and the Gov is the only 1 that can stop the Blue water and Pere Marquette Trains from being cut we need the $7.1 million.

This is the last stand we have if our Gov does not stop this Bill from passing we will lose the Blue Water and Pere Marquette trains we need all the help we can get.Please do not call anyone but the Gov of Michigan. Like i said it has passed the house and the senate.The house passed the $7.1 million but the senate passed the $6.1 million.

If we lose the 2 trains 133 Michigan Amtrak jobs could go thats 133 people on the unemployment line which Michigan does not need.

Granholm also approved a $3.4 billion transportation budget that reduces funding for Amtrak by $1 million unless the company builds a maintenance facility in the state. Without building the facility, Amtrak's funding will drop from $7.1 million to $6.1 million.

Amtrak, which is considering relocating a maintenance yard from Indiana, would get the $1 million if it moves the facility to Michigan, likely the Battle Creek area.
