Due to the derailment in Minnesota, I heard that #7(01) and #8(31) are in the process of detouring over the BNSF line through Willmar, Minnesota. (I got the chance to ride this line last year during a special run of the Milwaukee Road 261 steam engine) Of course, #7(01) has the Great Dome on it... which is headed out to Seattle for the Leavenworth, WA charter this weekend... after it spent the past week running on the Hiawathas and Lincoln Service trains. They held it in Minneapolis overnight for about 6 hours, but it's now on it's way west. The "track a train" is showing the detour for #8 right now, but not #7, which might take the original route afterall.

If anyone out in ND or west has a camera and can get some shots of the Great Dome and post them here, that would be great to see... Again... Great Dome on a very late #7(01).

The summer delays of construction and heavy agro freight traffic are just being replaced by the winter sources of delay-more derailments, mudslides and cold weather--sigh...........

At 5:15 PST Amtrak shows #7 doing 80 MPH on the normal route headed for Stanley, #8 at 61 also headed for Stanley on the route, What a mess.

7 arrived in spk about 12:40pm(scheduled 3:10am) with a business class single level coach as one of the head end cars but no great dome. got some pics of the arrival, switching and each section heading across the latah creek trestle. bright sunny day. had fun

There was no great dome on the EB last night when they sent the 7 cars to MSP as #8 was forced to detour back up north. Someone on FB page said it was heading out east.

It seems Boardman has taken the dome for himself on the executive fleet train last minute. The Snow Train has been calling paid dome car customers all week that the dome is not available now. An absolute shame to do that imho.

If we're talking about car 10031, you've been misinformed. It's out in Albany for Toys for Tots.

10031 was scheduled to be on the Leavenworth snow train as it has for years in a revenue generating partnership. It was rerouted and added to the tots train by exec order at last minute.
