India is a very mixed country as regards the traditional and the fururistic. I think the film is meant to show how investment in rail infrastructure can benefit all aspects of commerce, benefit the millions who still live directly off the land, as well as more established businesses.
With such a large population, it may not be too helpful to modernise too many aspects of work, as labour costs are reasonable, and putting a lot of people out of work by modernising and mechanisation may lead to social unrest?
